Decision Required: Whether to move to second reading.
This Ordinance was changed at the last Worksession and fell within the confines of significant changes, thus it is back to the introduction stage. The recommended change is to eliminate the need for notification via a newspaper of record. The Town Code currently mandates a newspaper ad along with individual letters to residents and a newsletter notice.
10. AUTHORIZATION AWARD OF BID – YOUTH PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Decision Required: Whether to authorize.
This item is part of the FY 11 Capital Improvement Program. Request for Proposals were sought and received. The Mayor and Council reviewed the proposals and with a budget adjustment to bridge the gap between the cost proposed and the cost budgeted will be able to award the bid and authorize the firm to begin the data gathering process.
11. PUBLIC HEARING – SPEED HUMP PETITION – HILLSIDE AVENUE
Decision Required: Whether to authorize the installation.
The residents provided a petition for a speed hump. The Town Clerk has verified the signatures. A notice of the public hearing was placed in a newspaper of record and notices sent to the residents. The Mayor and Town Council kept the public hearing open for additional input and explored the possible installation of two speed humps because of the length of the block. Staff is recommending the installation of two and have notified the property owners at both locations.
